Resort overview

Resort: The most magical resort in the Alps, Zermatt is set at 1620m at the foot of the huge and graceful Matterhorn. A traffic free resort which can be accessed only by train this is one of the great ski and climbing centres of the world. 

Skiing: With glacier skiing at 3820m and 313km of pistes this resort has superb snow conditions and the longest skiing season in the Alps. Zermatt has a fabulous range of ski runs for all abilities, some wonderful easy intermediate cruising over the Italian border and heli-skiing for the more adventurous. The charming mountain restaurants are probably the best in the world. There is a good mix of sophisticated and informal fun and with over 100 restaurants to choose from and many bars and clubs. Zermatt offers some of the best night-life in the Alps. 

Summer: Zermatt is almost as busy in summer as it is in winter. There are many opportunities for hiking, with over 400 km of well-marked footpaths through pine-scented mountain forests to Alpine lakes and ice-blue glaciers. 

Property: This is one of the most expensive resorts in the Alps and justifiably so. Prices start at around 1.5m sfrs and foreigners would need to apply for residency in Zermatt.
